You will develop a working knowledge of Adobe® Flash® Professional CC, Adobe Edge Animate and Adobe After Effects® CC, producing your own animated short films.

Week 1 - Mike Patterson
Director, designer and animation artist
Mike Patterson is a director, designer and animation artist working in visual music. His animated film Commuter, along with 7 of his music videos, are in The Museum of Modern Artʼs permanent collection. Mike’s 20 years of directing in television commercials combines storytelling with his animation expertise. While at Rhythm and Hues Studios he worked extensively in a mixed media style, merging live action with animation and motion graphics.
Week 2 - Greg Mcleod
Function Illustrator, Animator, Director
Greg is an award winning illustrator, animator and director. Greg has a distinctive hand drawn style and has worked on a wide range of projects including animation, illustration, exhibitions and book covers. Greg is a BAFTA winner, has won a Webby, won an Association of Illustrators Gold Award and won a variety of awards at film festivals.
Week 3 - Shaun Clarke
Director Animator Illustrator
Shaun Clark has directed an eclectic array of award winning animated films since the early 90's. His films have been BAFTA nominated and have earned him praise for his use of different techniques and styles of storytelling. Shaun graduated with a first degree honors in Animation before studying for a MA at The National Film School for two years. He resides in London where he works at Mew Lab as an animation director.
Week 4 – Kim Noce
Kim Noce is an Animator Director with a MA in Animation and a BA in Fine Art. Alongside her personal films, she works for companies such as BBC, Channel 4 and TATE. Her films have won many awards including BAFTA and ROYAL TELEVISION SOCIETY AWARD nominations.
Week 5 – Gemma Burdett
Gemma studied Animation Direction for 2 Years at the National Film and Television School where she experimented with many techniques and performance styles. Her Graduation film "Night Shift" has been shown world wide at various international festivals. Since graduating earlier this year, she has been working on various collaborative projects, and has just completed her first Music promo for the Electric Proms with Warp Films and the BBC for the track "Dragonfly" by M.Craft.
The course will mainly be focused on Adobe Flash Professional CC. The course tutor will advise when the following tools will be used during the course:

Adobe Photoshop® CC
Adobe Edge Animate CC
Adobe After Effects CC
A trial or fully licensed membership to Adobe Creative Cloud will be needed to partake in this course. If you currently don’t have a membership it is recommended that you consider downloading a 30-day free trial of the products needed for the course. It is advised that the 30-day free trial is downloaded as close to the course start date as possible.
Trial versions can be converted to complete or single-app membership via the Adobe Creative Cloud website. After you purchase membership, the desktop product trial will automatically convert into the licensed version, so you can carry on working.
